PRODUCT COVERED:
USL, CNL - Cord connected and permanently wired electric signs of the incandescent, fluorescent, HID, or electric discharge tubing type, or combinations thereof.
GENERAL CONSTRUCTION:
Signs of the above types may be labeled when the product is constructed in accordance with the Standard for
Safety, Electric Signs, UL 48. Constructions not directly covered by the Standard for Electric Signs may be labeled
only when described in this procedure.
CNL indicates compliance with Canadian Standard C22.2 No. 207-M89
ALTERNATE FASTENING METHOD (CHANNEL LETTERS)
Steel Stitcher Method-Wire stitcher, Craftdan Tools, Model
FasTac, serial #0003 through 0120 secures aluminum
channel letter returns or filler to the aluminum letter backs.
The stitcher is fed by a pneumatic stapler (Senco SKS N wire
stapler) with wire staples to produce a stitch with a crown of
nominal 7/16 in, which forms a strong, tight fitting joint. The
stitcher uses Senco, #N08BABN No. 16 gauge. 0.05 in., 200
grade galvanized wire to form each stitch. Stitches are
spaced 6 in. apart maximum. |
Staples are for use with sheet aluminum, 0.063 in tick maximum.
Maximum of two layers may be stapled.
